This exhibition is Siregar's second solo show in the UK after years of showing her work in galleries and public spaces across her country of origin, Indonesia.
This exhibition is part of Brighton Festival 2011.
The exhibition explores the relationship between emotional turmoil and the tranquility that sanctuaries, or places of asylum, can offer - also the human capability to experience the greatest confusion and the deepest calm within one being, sometimes simultaneously.
"I want my work to be immediate and engaging but also to resonate into the future lives of those who experience it. In my current practice I use video, installation work, sculpture, painting and performance art. I try to establish a balance between head, heart and spirit."
